From an electrified American icon to a British two-seater with fewer wheels than you might expect. We’ve put together a list of our most highly anticipated cars for the year.

Chevrolet C8 Z06

The C8 Z06 is the highest-revving, most track-focused, and exotic Corvette available. It’s available as a coupe or convertible body style.

The Z06 has a more aggressive front fascia than the Stingray. Wheels and tires, as well as side intake vent components. Key differentiators include a center-exit exhaust system. And winged design elements in the lower grille.

It also has a three-inch broader stance than the normal Stingray. Flared quarter panels and front fenders are also available. It has interchangeable spoiler wicker bills on its rear fascia. It boosts acceleration by increasing downforce and decreasing drag.

It’s mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The LT6 engine is a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8. That uses a flat-plane crank and dry sump lubrication to spit out 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

The Mazda MX-5 is a pillar of the roadster sector. Bringing affordable open-top fun to a whole new generation of drivers. It’s also a very smart car; one that’s a cinch to master, and is fun to drive.

It’s been seven years since the fourth-generation, or ND, MX-5 was launched in 2016. And as is typical for a Mazda, it’s received a couple of minor updates to keep it fresh.

The current ND MX-5 isn’t perfect, but it’s still a lot of fun to drive. It’s got a well-judged weighting that’s good for feedback, and the electric power steering is great too.

It’s fitted with the latest iteration of SSC 8.0 Side Slip Control. A Multimatic-developed active suspension management system and 4RM-S Evo all-wheel drive.

Safety features include adaptive cruise control. Autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist. You also get a rearview camera, traffic sign recognition, and an attention monitor.
