Uncensored Jeff & Jenn’s Second Date Update
If you enjoy listening to Jeff & Jenn’s show, you’ve probably already tuned in for their classic version. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:55 a.m., they air the show’s second date update on their radio show. You can also catch it on demand. Live 95.5 is Seattle’s #1 Hit Music Station
Live 95.5 is the most popular hit music station in Seattle, and is the only commercial FM radio station in the area. The station is owned by Alpha Media and broadcasts in the Top 40 (CHR) format. It also carries the syndicated morning drive time show “Brooke & Jeffrey,” from Seattle’s KQMV. The station’s studios are located on SW Fifth Avenue, and its transmitter is located in the Portland West Hills.
The station is co-owned by KUFX Media and has improved four straight sweeps. Currently ranked eighth in 6+, KUFX has increased its ratings four consecutively. It has also moved up one spot in six-to-plus. The station has gained five slots since February. Currently, it is the most popular station in the Seattle market, with an average of more than a million listeners each week.
KEXP: This 10-watt radio station launched in 1972 and has become a respected institution in the Seattle community. KEXP features indie music, local favorites, and live specialty shows. The station frequently breaks new bands. KNHC C-89.5 is the home of dance music, hand-picked by young people and the best of Seattle’s nightlife. The station’s student staff is in charge of production and programming.
In addition to Live 95.5, other radio stations in the market are improving as well. WDRV, iHeartMedia’s rhythmic CHR, Cumulus Media’s country outlet WNSH, and Connoisseur Media’s WWSK have all seen gains of one-half share over the past six months. The chart above shows the top five stations and their respective audiences in the market.
As part of its charitable efforts, the station recently partnered with Feeding America. 375 stations participated in the campaign and contributed 400,000 meals. The IBA president, Ron Stone, is proud of the stations that were involved in this project. He also hopes to see more such partnerships in the future. It’s a great way to support the local community while simultaneously spreading the message of the power of music.
